DESCRIPTION:The Mall of America has several indoor ponds where guests can drop change and make a wish. Every year\, the MOA collects approximately $24\,000 from the ponds and distributes it to nonprofit organizations. Each month a different nonprofit is selected to receive the coins\, and Urban Roots is the recipient for August 2025.\nIf you’re at the MOA in August\, throw some change into a pond for us!

Through hands-on programs in gardening\, cooking\, and conservation\, Urban Roots creates meaningful job and learning opportunities for under-resourced\, majority BIPOC youth—while also increasing access to fresh food\, promoting environmental stewardship\, and supporting community wellbeing.  \nDodge Nature Center is the longest-running nature center in Minnesota\, connecting thousands of people each year to the outdoors through hands-on environmental education\, farm experiences\, public programs\, field trips\, and a nature-based preschool. With over 460 acres of preserved land across West St. Paul\, Mendota Heights\, and Cottage Grove\, Dodge offers year-round opportunities to explore\, learn\, and grow in nature.
