OFFICIAL RULES
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.
This promotion consists of a one-time sweepstakes drawing that awards one (1) winner a box of fresh, locally-grown produce from Urban Roots and a flower pot-shaped mug with the Urban Roots logo (the “Promotion”).
WHO CAN ENTER: OPEN ONLY TO LEGAL RESIDENTS OF MINNESOTA WHO ARE 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER AS OF DATE OF ENTRY. Employees of Urban Roots and their immediate family members (spouse, parents, children, siblings) and individuals residing in the same household (whether or not related), are not eligible to participate. Void where prohibited.
SPONSOR: The Promotion is sponsored and administered by Urban Roots MN dba Urban Roots (“Sponsor”).
PROMOTION PERIOD: The Promotion starts at 2:00 pm Central Time on April 12, 2024 and will continue until 11:59 pm Central Time on April 28, 2024 (“Promotion Period”).
HOW TO ENTER: Go to Supporter Survey Link and complete the online survey. To be included in the drawing, entrant will be required to verify they are 18 years of age or older and a resident of Minnesota. Entrant must also include their full name and email address to receive the prize in the Promotion. Answers to the survey will not affect entrant’s ability to participate or chances to win a prize. Online entry must be received and recorded by Google Forms by 11:59 pm Central Time on the last day of the Promotion Period to be eligible for the drawing. Entry is limited to one entry per person.
To enter without completing a survey: On a 3 x 5 card, hand print your primary email address, full name, mailing address, and date of birth and mail it in a first-class stamped envelope to: Development, Urban Roots, 1110 Payne Avenue, Saint Paul, MN 55130. All mailed entries must include a valid email address and return address. Mail entries must be received by April 28, 2024.
SELECTION OF WINNER: Within 10 days after the end of the Promotion Period, one (1) winner will be randomly selected from among all eligible entries. Sponsor’s decisions are final and binding in all matters relating to selection of the Promotion winner. Sponsor reserves the right to require proof of age and state of residence prior to awarding any prize.
PRIZES: One (1) prize in the form of a box of fresh, locally-grown produce from Urban Roots and a flower pot-shaped mug with the Urban Roots logo will be awarded to the entry selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries. The winner can pick up the prize at Urban Roots at a mutually agreed date and time. Prize retail value is approximately $50.
WINNER NOTIFICATION: Winner will be notified by email within 48 hours of the drawing. Winner will be required to acknowledge by email receipt of notification within ten (10) business days of the date on which it is sent to the winner. If the acknowledgement is not received by Sponsor within ten (10) business days of notification at the email address specified in the notification, the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner may be selected in a random drawing from the remaining eligible entries. If any potential winner is found to be ineligible, or has not complied with these Official Rules or declines the prize for any reason prior to award, such potential winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner may be selected.
No cash alternative or substitution of prize is permitted except by Sponsor. Sponsor will make every reasonable effort to award the prize. The odds of winning are dependent upon the number of eligible entries received.
CONDITIONS: By submitting an entry, entrant agrees to the terms of these Official Rules and consents to the use of the entrant’s name and email address by Sponsor for purposes of email marketing and solicitation. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, damaged, illegible, stolen, misdirected, misidentified, postage due or incomplete entries, regardless of the cause. Entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned. Sponsor is not responsible for any costs associated with claiming any prize. Winner is solely responsible for the reporting and payment of all taxes, if any, that may result from claiming a prize in this Promotion. Entries in any way tampered with, forged, mutilated, incomplete, illegible, photocopied or mechanically reproduced, or submitted by or through fraudulent means may be disqualified in the sole discretion of Sponsor. This includes any entry that does not comply with these Official Rules in any respect. Decisions of Sponsor are final on all matters of fact, interpretation, eligibility, procedure, selection of winner, award of prizes, and fulfillment in respect to this Promotion. Sponsor reserves the right at any time to suspend, modify or terminate this Promotion or to modify, amend, or supplement these Official Rules in its sole discretion, subject to applicable law.
Winner consents to the use by Sponsor of their name for any lawful purpose, without further permission or compensation, except where prohibited by law. If used for digital or traditional marketing purposes, winner will only be identified by first name and initial of last name. Winner agrees to abide by and be bound by the terms and conditions of these Official Rules.
Sponsor is not responsible for and shall not be liable for: (i) telephone, electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet, or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties of any kind; (ii) failed, incomplete, garbled, or delayed computer transmissions; (iii) any condition caused by events beyond the control of Sponsor that may cause this Promotion to be disrupted or corrupted; (iv) any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising in connection with or as a result of the prize, or acceptance, possession, or use of the prize, or from participation in this Promotion; or (v) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with this Promotion. Sponsor reserves the right, in its discretion, to suspend or cancel this Promotion at any time if a computer virus, bug, tampering, unauthorized intervention, or other technical problem of any sort corrupts the administration, security, or proper play of this Promotion. Sponsor also reserves the right to disqualify, in its sole discretion, any person tampering with the entry process, the operation of the Web site, or who is otherwise in violation of these Official Rules. Any attempt to damage the survey site or undermine the legitimate operation of the Promotion is a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to prosecute violators to the fullest extent allowable by law.
RELEASE AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: By participating in the Promotion, each entrant agrees to release and hold harmless Sponsor from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with this Promotion or resulting from acceptance, possession, or use of any prize, including without limitation, personal injury, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy.
Except where prohibited, participants agree that (1) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out of pocket costs incurred in participation but in no event attorney’s fees; and (2) under no circumstances will a participant be entitled to obtain awards for and participants hereby waive all rights to claim punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket costs, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased.
GENERAL: Except where prohibited, all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor in connection with the Promotion shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard for conflict of laws doctrine. Should any term or provision of these Official Rules be determined to be void, unenforceable or contrary to applicable law as provided herein, such term or provision shall be deemed to be severed from the other terms and conditions to the extent necessary to bring the term or provision within the requirements of such law, and the remainder of these Official Rules shall be given effect as if they had not included the severed item.
LIMIT: A completed survey results in the entrant being eligible to win the contest. Multiple entries are not permitted by an entrant even if the entrant uses different email addresses or completes the survey more than once. Any attempt to use different or multiple email addresses or other methods to make multiple entries will void all entries submitted by the entrant. Use of any automated system to participate in the Sweepstakes is prohibited and will result in voiding of all entries and disqualification of the entrant.
NAME OF WINNER: For the name of the prize winner or for a copy of these Official Rules, send a self-addressed stamped envelope to: Development, Urban Roots, 1110 Payne Avenue, Saint Paul, MN 55130 with a written request for the rules or winner name within one (1) year of the end of the Promotion Period. The Promotion is subject to all Federal, State and local laws and is void where prohibited or restricted by law.
