The most valuable seed planted this year by Urban Roots was the seed of “community.” Each week our Wednesday afternoon gardening group brought together a collective of college students, retirees, a few working parents and Urban Roots staff members to laugh, share stories, and breathe in the fresh air while basking in the sunshine. Oh and we also planted, weeded and harvested a bunch of vegetables and herbs. A gift to all of us!
