Community Garden Plots
Sign up for a community garden plot at one of our farm sites! This is a great chance to to grow your own food and Urban Roots is here to offer support and resources and help you along, no matter your skillset.
Volunteer
Group volunteering is great for corporate groups, organizations, school groups and civic groups. We’ll work with you to create a custom event for your group. Our garden and conservation crew could always use a hand!
Join Our Board
We are committed to having a high functioning board to advance our mission. We are looking to grow our board and will be reviewing new board member applications three times each year in February, June and October. If you are interested in applying, please contact the Urban Roots Board for more information and an application form.
Group Tours
Let us show you what we do! Tour our multiple urban market gardens, park restoration sites and our office demonstration site, which features a commercial kitchen, gardens (showcasing organic growing methods), a small orchard and berry plot, a pollinator garden and Pollinate MN honey bee hive. Youth Internships
Youth (ages 14-18) are employed year round in the Market Garden, Cook Fresh and Conservation Programs. Applications for summer employment are available each year in the month of February.
Request a Tree From Our Gravel Bed
If you live in or around the East Side or North End St Paul, you can request a tree to planted on your property. Trees are available for homeowners and renters and come in a variety of species and sizes.
