Urban Roots is diving into the virtual world for our 2020 annual fundraising event, teaming up with two-time James Beard award winning production company, The Perennial Plate, to create our virtual program! We have a great line-up of variety acts for you to engage in/experience, showcasing our work on St. Paul’s East Side.
Our guests include writer, chef and remarkable role model for our youth, Samin Nosrat, environmentalist, activist and farmer, Winona LaDuke, Twin Cities Hmong American chef Yia Vang & Mamma Vang, musician Lucy Michelle, and pollinator queen-bee Erin Rupp, joined by the amazing youth interns who make our programs vibrant and meaningful. Our virtual event will kick-off online on October 13 with the opening of our auction and fun video demos, followed by the main event on October 15 to raise funds for our paid youth internships.
